Most of my guided tours are tailor-made for each client.  The whole process is very much a two-way dialogue between the client’s needs and the practical possibilities that can be accommodated within the given time schedule.

Ahead of any guided tour, I usually prepare an annotated route map and develop an time-tabled itinerary that satisfies the clients’ particular interests and specific needs as far as possible.

Adequate preparation before any tour usually ensures that it will proceed smoothly and that the guided tour will be a positive experience for all participants.

Ambleside & Lake Windermere

DISTANCE:  20 km or 12.5 miles plus cruise (7 miles)

09.10    Depart hotel.

09.30    Sailing departs from Bowness to Ambleside.

10.05    Arrive Ambleside.  Drive to Galava (30 min visit).

10.45    Armitt Museum (at least 1 hour)            

12.00    LUNCH in Ambleside including visit to Bridge House (1½ hours).

13.45    Townend for self-guided tour of house (1 hour)

15.00    Jesus Church (30 mins)

15.35    Holehird Gardens (1 hour)

16.40    Hammar Bank viewpoint on return journey (15 mins)

17.00    Return to hotel
